How the digitalisation of clearance measurements improves safety in refineries
In a refinery, safety is the top priority. Manually documented detection data leaves room for errors. To enhance on-site safety, we have digitised inspection and shutdown measurements in collaboration with Dräger.
Employees in the oil, gas, and chemical industries face dangers daily. To overcome these and ensure employee safety, the presence of gases in confined spaces must be detected before entry. Traditional manual clearance measurement poses a bottleneck for business and carries risks. Smart Safety solutions for maintenance tasks, including digital clearance measurement, help minimise downtime and errors. Real-time information exchange and data transfer via a cloud connection support safety and (cost-)efficient work permit processes.
For a mutual client, led by our colleague Manfred Scheiner, together with our partner Dräger, we developed a digitised intelligent safety solution that not only saves time but also improves accuracy and, above all, enhances safety measures: A solution that enables data flow from field devices directly into a customer system via a Bluetooth interface.
